The End of Africa As One!
Well that’s it, the Africa As One project is done, the boys all went home 2 weeks ago, I delivered all the cars (bye Princess!) for shipping back to SA on Thursday and now, I am getting on a plane to go home to Cape Town, 1 year and 4 days after our big send off at the V&A Waterfront.
It has been an incredible journey with some really great people (I miss you guys!). The things we have seen and experienced have been life changing, the challenges we met daily have made us all stronger and more resilient, we can handle and achieve anything now! We have met amazing people on our journey, who I hope to see again one day.
I don’t know how I feel about it being all over yet, I have been so busy since we got to the UK it hasn’t really sunk in. For sure very sad, and to tell the truth, I think I am in a bit of shock, everything is still a bit surreal I’m sure it will hit me when I walk into my house In the morning…
I keep getting asked would I do it again, the answer without thinking is YES, it would be so much easier a second time around with the knowledge I now have. When we started it was difficult to get current info on most of the countries outside of the main cities, so most of the time we made it up as we went along. I just need to sleep for a few weeks before I start again…
Thank you to everyone that followed our journey and sent messages and liked posts, it meant a lot to know you were out there watching and supporting us. Thank you to DHL for giving us this opportunity of a lifetime to help people, to see and share Africa as few people get to experience this amazing continent.
Cape Town, see you soon, I can’t wait to get on the mountain again!
