Spain, France & Belgium
Crossing into Spain without any hassles was such a relief, I was wound up so tight, waiting for the next problem I was ready to burst… But guess what – no problems (yeah yeah yeaaaah!). We took a beautiful drive from the ferry in Tarifa up to Barcelona mostly along the coast (some magnificent scenery).
I had never been to Barcelona before and was delighted to be be there, beautiful buildings lots of tiny winding streets, shops, lots of shops!!! I have been wearing branded clothing all year and was in heaven to hit the shops and buy some “real” clothes (only problem was the sizing seemed a bit on the small side…).
Next, we drove up to Paris, through some magnificent scenery, and found the little village of Lodeve to stay the night (such a cute place with a REALLY old cathedral).
I was so excited to be in Paris again, I love this city, it made me giggle with happiness to be there, seeing all the sights and exploring the streets again. I last visited 19 years ago for a long weekend, and a couple of years before that I spent a year living just outside Paris (I want to go back again soon!).
After leaving Paris we headed to Dunkerque for the night. As we were so close, we decided to visit Belgium (why not…). Crossing the border at 120km was a pleasure (you have no idea!!!).
The end is near – as they say!!!!
